The Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) Scale-up toolkit provides a set of resources and tested instruments that were developed as part of the implementation research for accelerating the scale-up of KMC in seven sites in India and Ethiopia. The project which was supported by the WHO Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health, aimed to develop and evaluate district-level models for scaling up KMC to achieve high population coverage.
Using the lessons learned in the implementation of the KMC Scale-up project, the resources and instruments included in this toolkit can be used to support other programmes in the development of KMC delivery models, implementation, programme learning, and monitoring and evaluation.
